Who's Cartier&Bailey Creative Studio?
Cartier&Bailey Creative Studio is a multi-faceted studio comprising of a graphic/web design studio, an art studio, and a framing studio. We're not just working, we're having fun at it too!
Laurie Landry, Creative Director
Laurie had several years of graphic and web design experience working for various companies such as UBC, WebofCare.com, RezRez.com and Intrawest, and have worked on several contracts for independent projects. Not only is she talented in graphic and web design, she is also a successful artist who loves to paint still lifes and landscape with oils or acrylics. Her paintings have been exhibited at the Beaumont Gallery & Studios, Island Mountain Art Gallery and Amazing Space Studio & Gallery.
After a bad commuting day in Vancouver where it took her 3 hours to get home on a normal 20-minute route, she thought, "there has to be a better life than being stuck in traffic!" So, she moved from Vancouver to a small mountain hamlet called Wells, BC, where nothing is more than 5 minutes walk from her studios, yet able to stay connected with the rest of the world by telephone, online conferences, and other Internet applications.
Her only regrets about leaving Vancouver? "I miss my great friends, and a good coffee house!"
Cartier, Slacker Extraordinare
A mellow redheaded dude, he came highly recommended by a placement agency. His job description is to keep the studios free of bugs and spiders and icky stuff, provide ear nuzzles, and keeping his coat clean. However, he can be found shirking his duties by lounging in his favourite chair, or in the staff lunch room stealing his co-worker's lunch.
Bailey, The Permanent Temp
A green-eyed temperamental girl, she came in as a temp, but managed to wriggle her way into a full time position, due to circumstances beyond her control (such as being abandoned by her previous employer). Her job description is to provide typing services, inspect boxes and greet guests, which she does rather okay, unless the guests lavish great flattery on her, then she's a real peach with them.
